Good luck with your port of Frontier to Linux! I think your use of Wine will certainly ease the task.
Another tool that I'm going to be watching is BlueBox, from www.dloo.com. Directly or indirectly, this is going to play a role in the future of cross-platform applications. There's more information in last week's Gnotice: http://news.gnome.org/gnome-news/960578167/index_html. If I understand correctly, the alpha release is scheduled for next week.

BTW, I see you're referring to Wine in all-caps, but the project maintainers only capitalize the W.
P.S. I suppose you may already know about BlueBox, since it's based on XML and currently uses SOAP.
