Okay, I am doing my history reading, and reading about Rose Cohen who came to the US in the 1890's from Russia. Well my grandfather came over in 1913 or 1914 from Russia/Poland (Poland was under the control of the russian tzar). My grandmother was born in the US but her parents came from Russia. So I'm on a quest to trace my family history. I am looking for info on Rose Bierman (formally Shlein or Schlein). Morris Bierman and their child Lillian (later Lilllian Jaffee - probally married in the 1940's). There other child Stanley was my father and I have all the info on him I can get.
My mother's side of the family is fairly well documented, my father's not at all. So off into geneology I go...
I am using Ancestory.com and it is not bad, but I also used peoplefinders.com - DON'T use it, it is a rip-off. They give you a short piece of info and for $40 you can get a detailed report, but for both the attempts I made they had no further info, they just listed addresses in the neighberhood, what a waste... Oh well...
